Utah getting refund of 800 thousand dollars
The state of Utah is getting back 800-thousand-dollars it spent to buy thousands of doses of anti-malarial drugs that have been promoted as a treatment for COVID-19.
Meds in Motion pharmacy refunded the state's money yesterday. The Governor's Office of Management and Budget moved to secure 20-thousand doses of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine from the pharmacy in late March.
The governor has maintained that state officials were acting in good faith by purchasing the medicine, but added that Utah no longer needs a stockpile of the drugs.
