All high school sports activities scheduled for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year have been canceled in Utah.

The state's High School Activities Association made the official announcement yesterday.

The cancellation came hours after Governor Herbert announced that there would be no further in-person classroom instruction in the state for the rest of the school year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision means there will be no state championships conducted in baseball, softball, boys soccer, track and field, lacrosse, girls golf and boys tennis.
