Younger people contracting Covid-19
Utah health officials are concerned as the younger population is gaining more positive COVID-19 cases.
State epidemiologist, Dr. Angela Dunn, says the daily number of new cases appears to be plateauing, but the state is seeing an increase of cases between the ages of 15 and 44.
She's concerned this population, who is less likely to end up in the hospital or die, will spread it to vulnerable groups and older individuals.
Hospital and state health officials say that if numbers don't go down, then hospitals could be overwhelmed before the end of the summer.
