Zion National Park officials are reporting that as tourism dropped for the park, nature has been gradually returning.

Zion National Park Forever Project officials say the lower presence of humans and the cleaner air allowed for animals to return to their natural habitats and routines as crews reported seeing cougar tracks along some of the trails.

Zion spokesman Jeff Axel says the drop in revenue from lack of visitors will slightly affect park operations and they will be making changes along with collecting entrance fees.

Last month, the park saw less than 200-thousand visitors while last year in May, the park saw over half-a-million visitors.
