A 21-year-old man who assaulted a school resource officer Monday afternoon is in custody.

Authorities say Kalen Cook walked into the parking lot of South Hills Middle School, and a resource officer asked him to leave.

A Unified police officer arrived, and while the officers talked, Cook picked up a board and hit the school resource officer in the face.

He also struck the Unified officer.

They tasered Cook when he wouldn't take his hands out of his pockets.

Cook had a knife and drugs on his person.
