Governor Gary Herbert is urging leaders of the Utah Republican Party to reconsider its push to censure Senator Mitt Romney.

On Saturday, the Republican State Central Committee will take up a resolution to censure Romney for his impeachment vote against President Trump.

During his monthly news conference , Governor Herbert said he had his own misgivings about the President's style, but would vote for him in Utah's presidential primary.

He also expressed support for Romney's conscience-based vote, saying he did what Utahns expect of their elected officials.
