Engaging in polygamy in Utah is still a crime but will soon have the same punishment as most traffic violations. 

Governor Gary Herbert signed 151 bills passed by the legislature into law Saturday, including one that turns polygamy from a felony to an infraction punishable by citation. 

Among other bills signed by the governor were measures that would end most abortions in Utah if Roe v. Wade is ever overturned, as well a law requiring burial or cremation of fetal remains.
