Utah election officials may place major restrictions on in-person voting for the upcoming party primaries due to the coronavirus.

State lawmakers will take up a proposal in a special session that would change dates ballots must be mailed in so they could be quarantined long enough to ensure the papers don't spread the virus.

New rules for polling places are still in the works, but in-person voting will remain.

The party primaries will still take place on June 30th.
