Iron County landfill fire contained

An Iron County landfill fire is contained after Cedar City Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management joined forces to fight it yesterday afternoon.

Cedar City Fire officials say when they arrived, the whole landfill was on fire.

Wind was pushing the smoke around making the conditions intense for the crews who worked to contain the fire and they only needed assistance from a helicopter to execute water drops.

No injuries nor any damages to structures at the landfill were reported.
