Everywhere you look, prices are up! Electricity Bills, eggs, clothes, gasoline, fast food, and DEFINITELY groceries! They call it "inflation", but when does "deflation" happen?! Surprisingly, a lot of businesses have done pretty well in the past year, and one of those businesses is the subject of this article! A certain grocery chain has ADMITTED to price gouging the public to help their bottom line!

WHO DID THE PRICE GOUGING?!

According to Food Industry, Kroger generated more than $148 billion in revenue during the 2023 fiscal year. However, during recent antitrust hearings, Bloomberg reported that a senior executive from the Ohio-based grocery chain acknowledged the company’s involvement in price gouging. The exec was quoted by saying "raised the prices of eggs and milk more than needed to account for inflation."

WHERE IS KROGER IN Nevada?

That's right... Kroger admitted to price gouging in the United States to account for inflation. In Nevada we have both Kroger and Smith's Food & Drug. Smith's has been a subsidiary of Kroger since 1998.

Sparks: 125 Salomon Cir

Carson City: 3006 N. Roop St

North Las Vegas: 2255 Las Vegas Blvd N (Smith's Pharmacy)

Does this affect you shopping at Kroger or Smith's now, knowing that this company was purposely price gouging their customers to help their bottom line? Or do you love Kroger/Smith's so much that it doesn't bother you at all? What do you think?
