A man who was acquitted last month of raping a college student at Dixie State University is facing new charges in Provo.

Investigators say 24-year-old Samuel Butler sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl after the victim's mother allowed him to stay the night at her home.

When the mother confronted Butler, police say the suspect drove away and crashed his van into one the cars parked in the neighborhood.

Investigators believe Butler could be connected to two other sexual assault cases in Utah County from 2014 and 2016.
