Man shot and killed in St. George identified

St. George police are identifying the 23-year-old man who was allegedly shot and killed by his roommate on Tuesday night as a former Dixie State University student-athlete.

Jamal Goodman, also known as "Tank," played for DSU's football team as a member of the 2015 Signing Day class and was pursuing a degree in criminal justice at the university.

A GoFundMe page created to help cover the funeral costs says he worked with youth at a juvenile detention center, he was respectful to his elders and saw the good in people no matter how wrong they could be.

Police say Goodman died an hour after being taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center, and the roommate who allegedly shot him is in custody and expected to appear in court today.
