New legislation in Congress could help provide running water to thousands of Utah Navajos.

Republican Senator Mitt Romney is co-sponsoring a bill with both of Arizona's senators to settle all current and future tribal claims for water rights.

Under the Navajo Utah Water Rights Settlement Act, the Navajo Nation would be given a large section of the Colorado River Basin to pump water from.

Romney says the legislation would prevent a lengthy court battle with the Navajo Nation.
