New wildfires now burning in Washington and Iron Counties

Several new fires were reported by Utah Fire Info. The Bench Fire is burning east of Cedar City near mile marker 64 of I-15.

The freeway remained open, but due to smoke conditions traffic yesterday afternoon was being escorted through the area.

A wildfire that started on Saturday Afternoon near Minersville Reservoir has now burned approximately 1800 acres.

The Greenville Fire was originally reported around 4:50 p.m. Saturday and has reached 1,800 acres with firefighters achieving 5% containment.

The fire threatened structures as well as camp trailers at the campground. The campers and boaters have been evacuated.

The Diamond Butte fire has been reported 32 miles south of St. George on the Arizona Strip.

It is currently estimated at 400 acres.
