No more jail time for man convicted of the gun in U of U student murder
The man convicted of buying the gun that killed University of Utah student Lauren McCluskey will not be spending any further time in jail.
Nathan Vogel was sentenced to time served and three years probation yesterday in federal court in Salt Lake City.Assistant U.S. Attorney Carlos Esqueda said Vogel admitted to getting a friend to help him purchase a handgun, which he then gave to Melvin Rowland.
Rowland used the gun to kill McCluskey last year, then used it to take his own life.
