Public awareness campaign – MaskUpUtah

Leaders from four Utah health care systems and the Hospital association are promoting a new public awareness initiative to get people to wear masks as COVID-19 cases rise across the state. 

Officials fear the current rate of new COVID-19 cases could overwhelm intensive care units in some hospitals next month. 

They started the hashtag MaskUpUtah campaign to push citizens to slow the spread of the virus.

This initiative comes as Governor Gary Herbert doubled down on his stance that they will only recommend face masks and not mandate them.
