Many Parents chose to keep their middle schoolers home yesterday after threats were made over social media.

On May 6th a Pine View Middle school parent posted a photo her daughter sent of a wall at the school that said, “I am shooting down the school on May 10 @ 10 am.” Reportedly, the threats to “shoot up” Pine View Middle School were discussed on the Social media app Snapchat.

Police were made aware of the thread as well as school officials.  The principal at pine view middle school sent out a letter to the parents and guardians of the students informing them of the threat and said that their School Administration and St. George Police spent the day investigating the incident.

The letter also read “at this point we have found no credibility to the threat. We are continuing to follow up on the incident and the investigation is ongoing.  We will keep you updated if anything changes.”

Officer Jared Carson of the St. George police department said that the school day went on like any other.

Carson talks about what they did to make sure it was safe for the kids to come to school.

Carson tells us they have an idea who it is, and what is happening so far with the investigation.
