Republican Senator Mitt Romney is expressing concerns over the weekend firing of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. 

On Saturday, President Trump fired U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman after Attorney General Bill Barr tried to force his resignation. 

Talking with Politico, Senator Romney called Berman's removal "pretty swampy."

He also referenced investigations SDNY has pursued against people connected to the President, saying he hopes those would not be impacted.
