The University of Utah is set to receive a 300-thousand-dollar grant to address violent crimes against women.

The three-year federal grant helps various groups the school partners with, like the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition.

It comes after two students and a staff member were killed in separate domestic violence attacks, including student-athlete Lauren McCluskey last October.

School officials say part of the money will go toward hiring a part-time victim advocate and pay for additional police training.
