The family of Lauren McCluskey is adding a new face to its legal team, and a new argument to its court filing in their 56-million-dollar lawsuit against the University of Utah.

Joined by former Utah Supreme Court Justice Christine Durham, Jill and Matt McCluskey responded to the university's motion to have their case thrown out.

They contend that Title Nine does not include any provisions that limits the U.'s liability, even though Lauren's killer was not a student.

The university asked a judge to dismiss the case, arguing that under the federal law, it had no obligation to take action against Melvin Rowland because McCluskey had initially invited him onto campus when they were in a relationship.
