A group of students at the University of Utah are demanding a meeting with U. President Ruth Watkins to discuss concerns they have about campus safety.

Members who started the "Unsafe U" Instagram account say they want to discuss issues they have with transparency and accountability following the murder of Lauren McCluskey last year.

The group is calling for a permanent student oversight board for the university's police department, looking for possible patterns of misconduct.

The group has also started an online petition to organize a campus wide walkout next Monday, one day before the one-year anniversary of McClusky's death.
