Utah couple files lawsuit against polygamist sect leaders

A Utah couple has filed a lawsuit against the leaders of a polygamous sect, accusing them of bilking millions-of-dollars from federal student aid programs.

Mary Nelson was part of the Kingston Group before she left her family in 2013.

In her lawsuit, she and her husband accuse sect leaders of instructing teens to not include their fathers and other sources of income when applying for benefits to enroll at Salt Lake Community College.

Any money not used for tuition was then supposedly given to the South Salt Lake office building that operated as the Kingston Group's bank.
