Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox has expressed optimism that Utah's economy could reopen "much sooner than expected."

Cox, who leads the Utah COVID-19 Community Task Force, posted a long thread on Twitter breaking down previous projections involving the number of infected patients and patients that would need hospital and ICU beds.

Utah's actual patient numbers are lower than expected, which Cox suggests shows social distancing measures have flattened the curve.

The lieutenant governor said the only thing that is concerning him is that testing has significantly dropped.
