Utah spends 800 thousand dollars to purchase drugs
The state of Utah spent 800-thousand-dollars to purchase drugs that have been promoted by President Trump as a treatment for COVID-19 patients.
The state bought 20-thousand packs of the anti-malarial drugs on March 31st.
The purchase was authorized by the Governor's Office of Management and Budget in order to quickly secure a supply of the drugs in case they were needed for patient treatment.
The state is currently negotiating a contract to purchase 200-thousand doses of those drugs for future use in treating COVID-19.
