Zion National Park is making some cliffs off-limits to climbers to help peregrine falcons nest without being disturbed.

Beginning today, nearly a dozen cliffs will be closed to climbers.

Biologists will be monitoring the closed cliffs for falcon activity and any that are not used for nesting will reopen in late April or early May.

The rest should reopen by late July, after falcon chicks develop wing feathers thick enough to allow them to fly.
