Police say a Hunter High school student in West Valley City was drugged and raped when she was kidnapped last week.

The victim was taken to Primary Children's Hospital for treatment and a DNA forensic exam.

Sergeant Melody Gray with Unified Police says investigators were able to track down a suspect.

A suspect is under arrest.

He's identified as 43-year-old Creed Lujan of West Valley City.

He faces several charges, including kidnapping, assault and rape.

Lujan was on parole for attempted murder and kidnapping.

Jessica Mass of Operation Underground Railroad says kidnapping cases are very difficult to deal with.

Mass says the emotional scars of surviving a kidnapping can last a lifetime.
