Chief justice says legal services need to be more accessible

The chief justice of the Utah Supreme Court, Matthew Durrant, says lawmakers need to do more to help make legal services more accessible to everyone.

Durrant addressed lawmakers yesterday in his annual State of the Judiciary on the first day of this year's legislative session.

Durrant also indicated the judicial branch could be empowered to coordinate Utah's mental health and drug treatment efforts
