The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is donating over five-million-dollars to American organizations to help with relief efforts around the country.

The Church announced yesterday that it plans to donate cash to groups like Feeding America, the Salvation Army and the United Way to help nationwide efforts to get food and supplies to those in need.

Donations will also go to the Convoy of Hope in Illinois to help feed people in the Midwest, and Partnership with Native Americans to help those in need on U.S. reservations.

The Church is continuing its own relief and volunteer efforts, with nearly 300 ongoing projects in more than 80 countries.
