Utah lawmakers are entering the final week of this year's legislative session, though one state Senator says they will be back for at least one special session.

The Executive Appropriations Committee approved a 20-billion-dollar budget plan for the state Friday night, leaving lawmakers four days to discuss and amend it before they adjourn Thursday.

The budget is about five-percent higher than last year's and includes a three-percent raise for most state employees and more money for affordable housing, air quality initiatives and mental health services.

Senate budget chair Jerry Stevenson says lawmakers will have to come back to the State Capitol for a special session to adjust the budget to take into account revenue changes and any impact from the coronavirus.
