The first condor chick is confirmed at Utah's Zion National Park.

The once-threatened California condor species is making a comeback in the wild.

Park rangers said the chick hatched in early May north of Angels Landing.

The chick's parents were bred in a program that began when the number of California condors numbered just 22.

There are now more than 500 condors, half of them living in the wild.
