Cedar City Has A KEEPER With This New Cafe!

Over the past couple weeks, I've heard whispers about this new cafe in Cedar City that has people excited. I'm a sucker for a really good new restaurant, even if it's 45 minutes to the north. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so I drove myself up to Cedar City to this place out!

SECOND EAST:

Yes, the restaurant is called Second East and it's located in Cedar City just off that northern most exit. I pulled into the parking lot and waited about 5 minutes before getting out. From the time I pulled into the parking lot, until the time I got out of my car, the parking lot was PACKED with cars! I went inside with my coworker, Aaronee. This place is totally unique and let me explain WHY.

WHY IS SECOND EAST UNIQUE?:

Second East is unique because it's almost like a Cafe Rio or Subway in the way that you order. You go to the front, and order your food to a person who is standing behind a glass barrier. You're watching them plate your food right before your eyes. You have the ability to say 'more of that', 'less of this' or even just see if the chicken looks good (it does by the way.)

WHAT DOES SECOND EAST HAVE?:

Right on their building it says PASTA PROTEIN SALAD. Their menu has tons of different pastas, asian food, scones, breads, sconewiches, meats, gluten free options, and even soups!

Grilled Chicken
Andouille Sausage
Pork Belly

Or maybe you're just feeling like you want a good Salad Bar! They've got that too.

LUNCH SPECIAL:

The lunch special is Dine-In only and it's $10.00 for a Bowl of Pasta & Sauce OR a Sconewich. You also will get a trip to the salad bar OR a bowl of soup. Plus, a 20 oz. drink! You can add extra meat for $2.00 or extra veggies for $1.25.

I ordered the lunch special with Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, and the Salad Bar. Here's something you need to know about me. I'm a real slut for some Alfredo, but it's RARE to find a really great Alfredo sauce. I love Pasta Factory's Alfredo Sauce, I LIKE Olive Garden's Alfredo Sauce, and that's about it! Every time someone says they have a good Alfredo Sauce, I assume they're lying... and most of the time they are. UNTIL TODAY! Second East's Alfredo Sauce is ABSOLUTELY DJ APPROVED!

MY ORDER:

Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, Bread Sticks, Pasta Salad & Macaroni Salad. Like I mentioned above, this Fettuccine Alfredo was actually great! Really good! However, I'm weird with Chicken. Does the chicken look good? Does it look suspect? I probably wouldn't have ordered it with chicken if I didn't see the chicken first... but the chicken LOOKED GOOD and TASTED GOOD! YES! I absolutely filled my bowl with pasta salad and macaroni salad, and it was good too! Not as great as the pasta, but still good. I was totally stuffed and satisfied with my lunch special at Second East!
