State officials say they plan to move forward with a ban on the controversial practice of LGBTQ conversion therapy.

Utah Commerce Executive Director Francine Giani said yesterday that despite objections from religious groups the process would not be delayed.

Earlier this week, the Church of Latter-day Saints objected to the ban on the grounds of being ambiguous in some areas and overreaching in others.

Giani said the rules against conversion therapy drafted by the request of Governor Gary Herbert are expected to go into place on October 22nd.
