Republican State Representative Phil Lyman has filed a lawsuit against the Bureau of Land Management after he was convicted for trespassing on federal lands.

Back in 2014, Lyman was a San Juan County Commissioner, and rode an ATV through Recapture Canyon to protest BLM policies.

In his ten-million-dollar lawsuit, the state lawmaker contends the agency colluded with the news media, the U.S. Attorney's Office and environmental groups to sully his reputation and to fabricate court testimony that resulted in a ten-day jail sentence.

Lyman is acting as his own attorney.
