SPRINGDALE, Utah (KDXU) - New transient lodging applications are on pause for the next six months in Springdale as Southern Utah continues to deal with a housing crunch.

The town council put together a task force to look at options on how to deal with the challenges locals are facing.

Transient lodging refers to hotels, resorts and group homes. Mayor Barbar Bruno says the area is dealing with rapid growth and their affordable housing options continue to decrease.
