A bill requiring women to have an ultrasound before they have an abortion is moving forward to the full House.

Mary Taylor of Pro Life Utah testified on behalf of House Bill 364 yesterday.

The bill requires physicians or medical technicians to describe the presence of an unborn child in the uterus and to make the fetal heartbeat audible to the woman if possible.

The ACLU called the measure cruel, saying it is intended to shame women making personal health decisions.

Marina Lowe of the ACLU of Utah testified against the bill, saying it was medically unnecessary.
