Yesterday's winter storm is being blamed for hundreds of flight delays at Salt Lake City International Airport.

Airport spokeswoman Nancy Vollmer says crews were prepared for the challenges the snowfall presented.

At least 300 flights were delayed and more than a dozen were canceled.

Eight-point-six inches of snow was recorded at the airport.

The National Weather Service says that beats the old record for snow at the airport by more than an inch

.Vollmer says the airport wants to improve its performance during weather events like yesterday's snow.
