Area wildfire update

According to fire officials, the Veyo West Fire, is at 2618 acres burned after a flight mapped the fire perimeter.

The fire is currently 20 percent contained. Fire crews managed to hold the perimeter during the winds in the afternoon and improve containment lines.

Turkey Farm Road fire has burned 11,933 acres and is now 25 percent contained and the Big Summit Fire in Lincoln County, Nev., and Iron County near Hamlin Valley has grown to approximately 5,076 acres.

 The fire is 10-percent contained with full containment expected Monday, July 20.
