Bill to regulate handling of fetal remains heading back to Senate
A bill that would regulate the handling of fetal remains following a miscarriage or abortion is heading back to the state Senate for more discussion.
The Utah House passed SB-67 yesterday.
The bill gives women 72 hours to decide if they wish to have their unborn baby cremated or buried, or if they wish the medical facility that treated them to handle disposal.
An amendment was added to the bill in the House, so it now goes back to the Senate for approval before it can be sent to the governor.
