The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is joining with the NAACP in calls for racial reforms across the country.

In a piece published by Medium, LDS Church President Russell M. Nelson and NAACP leadership say government, business and education leaders need to "review processes, laws and organizations' attitudes regarding racism and root them out."

The leaders also call on parents and families to be the first line of defense to prevent racism, saying "prejudice, hate and discrimination are learned."
