Dr. Blodgett tells us how to live longer, live better
Dr. Dave Blodgett outlined six key ways to live longer, and to live better, on the Andy Griffin Show on Wednesday morning.
Here's his list:
- Don't smoke
- Keep your BMI between 23-25 - maintain a healthy weight (only 30-40% of adults have achieved this)
- Eat 5 cups of fruits and vegetables daily (only 17% of adults have achieved this)
- Exercise 30 minutes a day (this is your MAGIC BULLET!!!) - extends the avg adult life by 8 years
- Sleep 7-8 hours nightly
- Calorie restriction - eat less, don't drink your calories (better diet, eat less food)
