Utah firefighters heading to California

California authorities are asking Utah firefighters to help out with wildfires raging in their state.  The Salt Lake City Fire Department says it is deploying a 12-man team, along with several wildland vehicles to the front lines today.  The Unified Fire Department is also preparing to send a team of its own.

UDOT ready for winter weather

The Utah Department of Transportation says its road crews have already been working to reduce the impact of an anticipated snowstorm.  UDOT's John Gleason said yesterday that crews were out on the highways spraying a salt and water mixture on the roads.

More volunteers needed in search for missing Cedar City woman

The Iron County Sheriff's Office is asking for more volunteers to help find an elderly Cedar City woman who disappeared over the weekend. Lt. Del Schlosser with the Iron County Sheriff’s Office said 71 year old Carol Stratton was last seen walking from 3750 West and 4000 North in Cedar City around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Utah judge rules on flavored vaping products

A Utah judge has issued a temporary restraining order against the state's emergency rules banning the sale of flavored vaping products in certain businesses.  Judge Keith Kelly announced yesterday that the Utah Department of Health didn't follow proper state guidelines for implementing such rules.

Ski areas firing up for the season

Snowbasin is firing up the snow guns to get ready for ski season.  The resort has set its opening date for November 27th.  Snowbasin has several new upgrades. Brian Head is estimating their start date as November 15 if mother nature cooperates.

A California man has died after a rollover crash in Emery County.  The Utah Highway Patrol says the 83-year-old lost control of his car yesterday on Interstate 70 near Green River.

Men facing charges in Utah FedEx scheme

Ten men are facing charges in a scheme to maximize their profit through bribery and false information at a Utah FedEx Ground hub.  Indictments unsealed yesterday accuse FedEx employee Ryan Mower of Bountiful of accepting around 300-thousand-dollars in bribes to help defraud his employer.
