Missing teen found alive

A California teenager who went missing while hiking in Millcreek Canyon has been found alive, something search and rescue crews admit they didn’t think would happen. Nicholas, whose last name was not immediately released, had been missing since he went hiking by himself in Millcreek Canyon on Thursday.

More Utah firefighters heading to Australia

Another round of Utah firefighters is prepared to head to Australia. New pictures show them training on the different types of fuels in Australia, versus the ones we have here. Over 20 firefighters from Utah are already helping fight the fires in the land down under.

Mans body found in Hells Canyon

Salt Lake City police say they know the identity of a man whose body was found in Hell Canyon, though they are trying to determine what caused his death.  A hiker found the body yesterday morning and called police, who helped remove it from the canyon.

39 Senators sign a amicus brief regarding abortion

Senators Mike Lee and Mitt Romney are among 39 Republican U.S. senators that have signed an amicus brief, urging the U.S. Supreme Court to reconsider two landmark cases that granted rights to abortions.  The brief comes from the group Americans United for Life.

Jill Biden is telling Utah Democratic donors that her husband Joe has a real chance to defeat President Donald Trump in November.  The wife of former Vice President Joe Biden visited Salt Lake City last night for a fundraiser held at the University of Utah law school.

Woman accused of embezzling money from flight school

A Weber County woman is accused of embezzling more than 200-thousand dollars from a flight school.  Prosecutors say Shawnn Puntasecca set up a fake Venmo account that students thought belonged to FLT Academy in Woods Cross, but was actually tied to her personal bank account.

Protesters arrested in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown is defending his officers after the arrest of more than a dozen protesters at Washington Square Park. The protesters took over part of the park Thursday in order to demand that city leaders provide more shelter beds and that police stop issuing citations for homeless camping.

Man pinned underneath car

A Magna man is recovering after he somehow got pinned underneath his car.  Police say the 58-year-old was working on the vehicle yesterday when it came down on top of him.  Fortunately, his son was nearby and was able to get him out and take him to a hospital.

Three people injured after Tesla crash

Three people are recovering from injuries after a crash involving a Tesla and another vehicle in Salt Lake City.  Police Lieutenant Brett Olsen says the driver of the Tesla was traveling at a high rate of speed when the car ran a red light at 900 West North Temple yesterday morning.
