Cougar hit and killed on I-15 in Cedar City

Highway Patrol officers found a young cougar hit by a vehicle on I-15 near the south interchange.  Dispatch called Josh Carver (district conservation officer) at 6:30 yesterday morning; he retrieved the cougar from the median by mile marker 56 on I-15 (south of Home Depot).  We believe this is the animal that had been recently seen in Cedar City, although there is always the possibility of a littermate (sibling). It’s always good to remember we live in cougar country.
