LDS Church Announces New Temples

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is planning eight new temples worldwide.

Church President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to build new temples in American Samoa, Okinawa, Tonga, Honduras, Chile and Hungary yesterday during the closing session of the 189th General Conference.

The Church will also build new temples in Tooele Valley, Utah and Moses Lake, Washington.

Nelson also announced plans to renovate the Church's temples in Salt Lake City, Manti, St. George and Logan.

President Nelson pointed out parallels between faith and the building and renovation of temples.
