LDS Church releases details for youth program

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is releasing details of its new program for children and youth in the faith.

In a video, Church leaders explain the new Children and Youth Program will be more flexible, allowing participants to set personalized goals, and allowing parents and leaders to customize their own efforts as well.

The new program also calls for changes within Primary, with local wards organizing bimonthly activities for boys and girls starting in the year the child turns eight years old.

The new program comes as the LDS Church leaves the Boy Scouts at the end of the year.
