New Southern Utah wildland fire

The Sandy fire was reported at 3:34 p.m. July 24, 2020 approximately 3 miles west of exit 30 off Interstate 15.

It is burning near the Dry Sandy Wash in brush and pinion juniper. The fire is currently 15 acres and zero percent contained.

Fire Resources Assigned include 14 Smokejumpers, 2 Type 1 Hotshot crews, 2 Type 2 IA Crews, 2 SEATs, 2 LATS, Air Attack and lead plane, 2 Type 1 Helicopters, 1 Type 2 Helicopter and 1 Type 3 Helicopter.
