Upbeat, versatile local band The Famous Unknowns set to perform Aug. 12 at the City of St. George’s free Concert in the Park
Free-wheeling and pulsating in their sound, The Famous Unknowns will sing at the City of St. George’s Concert in the Park Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Vernon Worthen Park.
This is the fifth concert of a six-month series that stretches into September. Each performance takes place the second Monday of each month.
“Their array of high-energy party music is sure to get the audience off their feet and moving to the music,” said Gary Sanders, Community Arts and Exhibits Manager. “They will rock it the entire concert.”
The Famous Unknowns have performed in places all over the world, including Hong Kong, Australia and Thailand.
In their repertoire are fun tribute shows like ABBA, Grease, The Village People, Elvis, Tina Turner, The Blues Brothers, ZZ Top, Pat Benatar, Neil Diamond and Johnny Cash.
“For our show, the band will focus on hits from the 1970s,” Sanders added. “Expect several costume changes and tons of excitement.”
The final Concert in the Park will be Sept. 9 when High Rocktane comes to St. George with its wide variety of songs spanning from the 1950s to modern-day hits.
