TREMONTON, Utah (KDXU) - A Utah man is trying to find a way to get his fiancée and her son out of Ukraine.

Clark Smith of Tremonton says his future wife has been trying to stay safe in Kyiv since Russian military action began last week.

"Everyday since she wakes up to the missals being dropped around her and explosions and gunfire," says Smith as his voice shakes.

His goal is to get his fiancée across the border into Poland and then fly her and her son to Utah.

Smith says he's reached out to two senators in hopes of getting some help.
