Utah Senator Mitt Romney is criticizing President Trump for clearing out a peaceful protest with force to make way for a photo-op.

Romney says the murder of George Floyd shocked and sickened him and that he respects those who are protesting against racism and police brutality.

He added that the videos he has seen from the protests outside the White House were peaceful and they should not have been removed by force and with no warning, especially when it was for a photo-op.

This comes as Trump claimed the authorities did not use tear gas against the protesters and that it was a pepper compound, but the CDC listed it as one form of tear gas as the effects on people are the same.
